| What it takes from your deals | Its pages state the payout per open or click and don't state what share of the advertiser's spend beehiiv keeps | No commission, no rev-share |
| Free way to start | beehiiv's free plan (up to 2,500 subscribers) doesn't include it; the paid plans list a free trial | 200 emails for a $1 card check, then a plan |

What does a beehiiv Ad Network ad pay next to a flat sponsorship?
beehiiv pays per result: a CPM offer pays per 1,000 unique opens and a CPC offer per verified unique click. Its FAQ gives a $5 CPM and a $2 CPC as examples, shows an estimated payout on each offer before you reserve it, and says the estimate comes from your past performance and isn't guaranteed. Clicks and opens count for 72 hours after the send, and verification can filter bot, duplicate and bounced clicks, so the verified count can sit below your own post stats (read 28 October 2026).
On $150, the median printed price for one main slot in a newsletter under 5,000 subscribers (74 newsletters, read 25 October 2026), matching that price takes 30,000 unique opens at the $5 CPM example, or 75 verified clicks at the $2 CPC example. A sponsor that buys the slot pays the flat price whatever the opens. The two can run in the same issue: beehiiv's FAQ asks for no exclusivity and warns that too many ads in one send can hurt deliverability.
Do you need beehiiv to use the beehiiv Ad Network?
Yes. Its FAQ says the Ad Network is for anyone on the Lite plan or above who is actively sending on beehiiv; offers then appear in the dashboard with no application. beehiiv's free plan, up to 2,500 subscribers, doesn't include it (read 28 October 2026). Newsletters on Kit, Substack, Ghost or any other platform can't join it. The beehiiv Ad Network alternatives page covers the networks that take other platforms, and getting sponsors for a beehiiv newsletter covers selling direct sponsorships on beehiiv.
Can you use the beehiiv Ad Network and Book a Sponsor together?
Yes. The Ad Network fills a slot with an offer you pick, paid per open or click; Book a Sponsor emails the brands that sponsored newsletters like yours and introduces you when one replies, and you quote your own flat price. A brand that says yes can book through your beehiiv Direct Sponsorships storefront, which invoices through Stripe for a $10 flat fee per transaction, or pay you any other way. Book a Sponsor takes no bookings or payments of its own.
