Book a Sponsor vs Paved: which finds newsletter sponsors?
Paved is a free marketplace and network where brands book newsletters with 50,000+ subscribers, or fill spare slots with pay-per-click ads from newsletters with 1 million monthly impressions. Book a Sponsor pitches the brands for you at 10¢ per email sent, at any list size. | Paved | Book a Sponsor | |
|---|---|---|
| What it is | A newsletter ad marketplace and pay-per-click ad network | An outreach service that pitches brands for newsletters |
| How you get sponsors | Brands book your listing at a flat fee, or its code snippet fills spare slots with pay-per-click ads from matched advertisers | It emails the brands that sponsored newsletters like yours and introduces you when one replies |
| Price to you | A free account with no subscription fee | $20 in free credits (200 emails), then 10¢ per email sent, initial emails and follow-ups |
| What it takes from your deals | Its pages don't state a cut on bookings or clicks | No commission, no rev-share |
| Free way to start | Free to join; its FAQ says you pay nothing to list your newsletter | $20 in credits (200 emails); card at checkout, no trial |
| Who can use it | Flat-fee bookings: a minimum of 50,000 subscribers. Pay-per-click ads: a minimum of 1 million monthly impressions | Newsletters on any platform, no subscriber minimum; adult newsletters are refused |
| Who does the selling and the paperwork | Paved handles invoicing, contracts and payouts; you approve booking requests and creative from a dashboard | Book a Sponsor, from its own mailboxes and domains; you read the pitch and can block any brand |
| Where it falls short | It doesn't publish what it takes, and both ad types have a size minimum, so a newsletter under them can't use either | The pitches are cold email, so most brands won't answer, and each reply still needs you to close the deal. At the default 50 new brands a day it costs $5 a day, up to $10 with follow-ups, weekends included, so the $20 credit lasts 2 to 4 days. It takes no bookings or payments and works for newsletters only. |
When Paved is the better pick
- Brands come to you. Advertisers browse the marketplace and book direct placements, so you don't send a pitch. Book a Sponsor's pitches are cold email, and most brands won't answer.
- It's built for large lists: with 50,000+ subscribers you can sell flat-fee placements and rebook the brands that worked, and Paved reports on each one.
- It fills unsold space by itself. You drop in a code snippet, and a pay-per-click ad from a matched advertiser goes into the spare slot on each send.
- It does the paperwork: invoicing, contracts and payouts run through Paved, and every ad is reviewed by its team before it goes live. Book a Sponsor takes no bookings or payments.
When Book a Sponsor is the better pick
- You're under its minimums. Book a Sponsor takes newsletters of any size on any email platform; Paved needs 50,000 subscribers for bookings and 1 million monthly impressions for pay-per-click ads.
- You'd rather not wait to be found. Book a Sponsor starts emailing the brands that sponsored newsletters like yours the day you check out, 50 new brands a day by default.
- You want the price in advance: 10¢ per email after $20 in free credits, so $150 to $300 for 30 days at the default 50 new brands a day. Paved's pages give no figure for what it takes.
Questions
Does Paved work for a small newsletter?
Not for bookings or pay-per-click ads. Its publisher page lists a minimum of 50,000 subscribers for flat-fee bookings and 1 million monthly impressions for pay-per-click ads (read 6 October 2026). It has a Booker page for your own booking link, which our Paved alternatives page covers.
How much does Paved take from a sponsorship?
Its publisher page doesn't say. It states no subscription fee and says you pay nothing to list; the cut on bookings and clicks isn't on the page, so ask Paved before you count on a figure (read 6 October 2026).
Can I use Paved and Book a Sponsor together?
They do different jobs, so yes in practice: Paved lists your newsletter for brands to find, and Book a Sponsor emails brands to start conversations. Book a Sponsor takes no bookings or payments, so it never competes with how Paved books and pays.
Is Book a Sponsor the same as SponsorRadar.com?
No. Book a Sponsor (bookasponsor.com) pitches brands to sponsor newsletters. It was called Sponsor Radar until October 2026, which is why it gets mixed up with SponsorRadar.com, a separate company with a YouTube sponsorship database.
